I made a number of 7 pin tube plugs to use in the conversion of a GRC-9 to solid state by taking thin phenolic sheets (available from AircraftSpruce.com) and cutting them into circles using a circle cutter and a drill press. I also created a drilling template for the 7 pin pattern. I bought some suitable copper wire in the same size as the tube pins. Then I stacked up the circles of phenolic to make the required thickness, glued them together, drilled the required hole pattern in them, inserted wires in place and secured them with glue. The process was rather laborious, but yielded satisfactory results. This same process should work with larger plugs. And I am not interested in going into business making the things!
