[ARC5] RU receiver question

Dave's trick with the SCR-183: well, that's one way to do it, and it gets the job done.
But my puzzlement is how the original RU, SCR-183 worked in some environment, like the airfield surround,
where you might have a number of signals going on. 3,4 tuned circuits at 5 MHz are like a crystal radio selectivity
on broadcast band. 
The RAL or other regen, with a tuned circuit Q of 1500 up, are not comparable at all to the stock RU !
Well, i guess i'll have to keep one RU and power it up, find out for my own satisfaction how it does.
