I agree with Ken's comments.

You say you want to use a center-tapped HV power transformer "end-to-end."
That may be a bad choice since the center tap, which was meant to be at
ground potential, will be lifted at least 500 volts above the transformer
frame, creating a likelihood of an insulation breakdown and short to ground.
