It was tuneable, but after WWII, it was fixed at 1030/1090, and the APX-25 SIF encoder was added.  It was then capable of modes 1,2, and 3/A

Isn't the APX-6 an L band IFF set, around 1100 Mhz?.   Predecessor to the APX-25/ KY-95 IFF/SIF set.
