I recall seeing in one of the short articles like "What's New" in Short Wave Craft or similar magazine, that somehow it had been noticed the a ship in the direction of radio
waves might interrupt or somehow diminish reception on another nearby ship. I'm sorry, that's pretty vague, but that seems to be about all I remember about that particular
phenomenon. The article noted that maybe this phenomenon could be harnessed for navigation. More often noted of course, was how radio waves seemed to reflect off a
passing aircraft and affect ground reception. I assume this was maybe at the popular 5 and 10 meter bands of the time, where the wavelength was likely to be a fraction of
the plane's reflecting material.  These kinds of phenomena no doubt started the train of thought that lead to the development of RADAR systems.
