When I was stationed at Lindsey Air Station, Germaany
in the small city of Raunheim am Main (1967-1971),
I had the Callsign of DL4AM.

I used a National NCX-5 transceiver. Across the street
was an LF beacon (callsign unknown) for Rhein-Main
 Airbase(aka Flughafen Frankfort).

NCX-5 (and -3) had only the selectivty of the final
amp stage to serve as a preselector.

I eventually discovered that strong SW Broadcasting
stations around 22 MHz were mixing with the beacon
signal in my NCX-5 input and appearing in the upper
of the 15 meter ham band!

My first acquaintance with that phenomenon!

I have most of the boxes to set up a second ZB device with
the ARC-5, including the separate mount for the ZB devic
Still would need some connectors, a pilots control box and
the antenna. The first set up that was done Is complete and
working ( thanks Jim AC2EU ) using a GF-11/RU-15 set, an
is eventually going to the Military Aviation Museum in
Virginia Beach.
