I also miss the marine radio beacons, especially the Sequence groups where they had to six beacons transmitting sequentially on the same frequency. 

I also miss picking up the Marine CW from the ITT coastal station WSL. I toured the WSL receiving station in 1982 before they shut down.

I had a couple of BC-453 receivers and traded them to a ham friend who wanted to go back to sea. He used them to pick up both sides of the QSO to bone up on this code. I got a surplus SP-600 in the deal.

End of an era...
