[ARC5] dying hobby?

Well, if Fair is too far for some to go for bargains, they can come here. I
have a 3000 sq. foot house that is full, a 600 sq. foot full garage and a
900 sq. foot full shed. Bring money and a big truck. Lots of big trucks. You
can find probably more variety here than at Fair. 73 - Mike

There are young people building and experimenting with electronics, but not
in this countr.y My last place of employment had many foreign born workers,
the norm in Engineering companies these days, and the new hires I knew built
crystal radios and experimented with 555 timers.

I agree. It may be an age of golden opportunities, or capabilities, but if
there are not many people building kits (and I believe there are not) then I
don't think it should be called a golden age. There's nothing at all like
the era of Knight Kits, Heathkits, Eicos and so on. Those were big
businesses with some big kits, whereas it seems kits these days are (with
few exceptions) small products with small manufacturing (even just
hobbyists) behind them.
