I hate to say it, but Phil isn't going to move a significant
fraction of that chaos even at pennies-a-pound.
There just aren't enough of us left who have the room or money.

What he needs is a few knowledgeable, hard-headed guys
who know what's truly "rare" and what's "common," cherry-pick
those things out, along with the more sought-after connectors
and popular accessories, then hire a back-hoe and contract
a scrap dealer.

We could organize groups to "rescue" of some popular categories,
like a group for Collins gear, a group for R-390, etc.-
groups of guys who would put in time and money
to save their particular interest from the back-hoe.
We'd also have to accept and forgive; saving it all,
or even a significant fraction of it, is impossible.

I'm not optimistic; we have lots of people
who will cry "Save it! Save it!" but when it comes time to
take action, they disappear- won't contribute a dollar or
a weekend to save anything. As in any group of humans in
any field: there are 1000 talkers for every "do-er."

If we can't organize such groups, I guess the only thing
to do is go as individuals as soon as you can.
