I've heard that military-deviation FM has a calling frequency of 29.4 MHz but I've not monitored it myself.

I wish I could get my WW2 FM radios like the BC 1336, BC 685 xmtr(SCR 608) , BC 924 xmtr(SCR 808) on 10mtrs for some long distance contacts..but sadly the freq deviation is too great and sure it would cause problems.

Most days there is some sporadic E hops across the states but I'm not hearing the bands acting like I would expect for the sunspot numbers. Maybe there is something else going on that is increasing absorption at the same time the sunspots are increasing.
