Yes indeed.  Over several years, ARC developed a large number of 
specialized tools to assemble the command sets, some quite ingenious.  
The problem now is recognizing what they were originally intended to do 
if you saw them today.  I still have a couple that have defied 
explanation - at the bottom of the page at
