Subject: [ARC5] Downsizing - BC455B available

Hi,

I am moving out some of my gear that I don't use and expect to not use any more. I have a BC-455B, 6-9.1 MC receiver made by Western Electric and dressed in black. The dynamotor plug has not been soldered. There are a couple of small dings in the sheet metal that can be straightened with a little care. I never got around to it. There is an earphone jack in the front panel and an unpainted panel with gain control and BFO control. The insulator on the antenna terminal is cracked but still functions. Most of the screws that hold the top cover on are missing - just enough to keep the cover from falling off. All of those extra 'features' were included when I got the radio.

The radio works. I am not interested in wide AM and the radio tuned pretty fast for CW and audio filter. I could use some of the parts - especially some of the sheet metal to improve one or two of my other command receivers. If somebody wants this radio or needs it for some parts just make me a reasonable offer. I don't expect to get enough to retire but that doesn't matter. I am already retired:) If no takers I will salvage a few things and dump the rest. Sell or trade. What do you have? Don't wait too long. I am recovering space in my small retirement shop. A BC-454 already went to a new home:)

I have several BC-453 and R-23 receivers that I will continue to use straight through and with external converters on amateur frequency assignments. I have an R-25 for operation on 160 meters that I will also keep. It needs some sheet metal and a BFO coil or a substitute BFO.
