[ARC5] [Milsurplus] 915 kHz IFs and others

FYI, there was a rather long article in a recent Electric Radio Magazine on using the 
BC-453/R-23/ARC-5 "Q-5er" for receivers which have OTHER THAN 455 kHz IFs.

The author showed how they work extremely well with any receiver with a 915 kHz 
IF.....among others.

The idea being that the LF receivers' LOs output major harmonics, all of which can be used 
to gain the "Q-5er" effect for various IF frequencies.

It works with the other "ARC-5" receivers too, like the BC-454, and especially, the BC-455, 
which as anyone knows who has ever attempted to use one on the air, has no selectivity to 
speak of.

The author says that the BC-453/BC-455 combination has to be heard to be believed. It is 
amazingly better.
