This is my U.S. Navy Reserve GF-10 / RU-15
"Green Tag" set:

Didn't need to replace much.  A bad cap or two,
clean, lube, De-Ox was about it.  Did dismantle
and refurbish the dual-band coil.  If anyone is
interested in that procedure, let me know.

When the band is decent, 12W Peak AM
with a good stock RS-38 mike into
a full-wave delta loop works well.
Check into local nets, plus QSOs with good reports
all over the south-central part of the States.

RU receiver is slightly more trouble than a "ARC-5."
Differences between it and a 274N are that it requires
a floating B- and a couple of resistors in a voltage divider.
If one doesn't have a control box, I *think* this is right:

With a properly matched speaker, the RU will
output plenty of excellent audio with B+ below 100V.
Here's W5HRF on 3880 this evening, with RX B+ 90V:

It's also a TRF and is very broad.  Not as broad as an
ARC-2, but it can be challenging if the band is crowded.
Broadcast band music stations sound very good to me.
Folks- we ain't trying to work DXCC with these things.
We have "Ken and Barbie" plastic radios for that.
Enjoy it for what it is; this rig helped win Midway.

"Green Tag" pieces I'm still looking to buy or trade-for:
GF-10 Transmitter control box, "coffee grinder," meter,
plus a CBY- marked Loop/Antenna screw-on switch lever.

Does anyone else have a "Roogy-Foo" on-the-air?
