We also have a very cherry looking BC-348 that's missing the dynamotor, too.  It had a homebrew AC supply installed but I'd redo that if it's going to be operated.  The B+ is a lot higher than it needs to be, and that's the ONLY thing I want to have to do to it.

What a mess!!!

Still, I would be very curious if all that work resulted in a working receiver.

Have you thought of cleaning the dirt off it, then firing it up to see if it worked?

That double-conversion conversion is interesting.

I cannot figure out the "vernier" though.

In any case, it looks absolutely terrible.

My second "good" receiver shortly after my Novice ran out in 1957 or 1958 was a BC-348. I
was quite impressed with it at the time. I traded it back to the fellow from whom my Mom
bought it for an RAL-7 so I could work 15 meters. I am very glad I did.

I have another BC-348 now which although it has an AC supply in it, otherwise looks
completely stock. I have not yet opened it up to check it out though.
