P.S. Before your replace resistor 57-5
(after it's removed),
use your ohm meter to measure between the plate
Cap of the 2nd IF and pin 3 of the first IF.
It should read completely open.  If not,
your IF transformer has an internal short (rare)
or a B+ leak to ground in the can's base wafer.

Look at the phenolic wafer at the bottom
of the IF can.  In some of these old sets,
(TCS is really bad about it), the base wafer
of the IF can absorbs water and can create
a path for B+ to leak to the chassis.
Last time I saw this was in a TCS and it
was so bad I had to clip-out a chunk
of the wafer to stop the B+ leak.
