I've never owned one but remember only seeing Wulfsburg radios in
helicopters at airshows and first responder open houses and such and
wondered why.  Then I found the reason is they are the most
frequency-agile radios you can buy and gave those services the ability
to talk to anyone on either AM or FM modes.    A blurb from the web:
"Wulfsberg's Flexcomm communication system supports all channel
frequencies from 29.7 MHz to 960 MHz, including P-25 compliant digital,
analog, trunking and encryption standards, for rotary- and fixed-wing
aircraft used in law enforcement, fire control, medical evacuation,
search and rescue, oil exploration, electronic newsgathering and
military applications."

Sounds like even the older models would be a great radio to get working!
