Received today in mail the book, "No Way Out", 2020, by Steven R. Whitby, editor - publisher Air Classics Magazine,
Warbirds International, Mustangs International, and Sea Classics.
This a heavy, 256 page book with hundreds of photos, very many full color.
This has the most up to date and complete story. It identifies the supposed - jinx radio removed from the 'Lady' as
BC-348. Also recounts in detail the sea crash landing of the plane that installed this BC-348 to replace the defective
receiver already there. Only maybe a very few inside - the plane photos; maybe the darkness presented a problem
to the cameras available. One 4-channel Command Sets control box is seen in the cockpit, so we know what the full
radio complement was on this plane. I think the many photos of the crew's remains were maybe somewhat
disrespectful and too much, but that's my opinion, and I think the author wanted to get all available photos out there.
If you are interested in this story, this is THE book. I heartily unreservedly recommend it.
