P.S.
It is essential to have the manual before heating solder on
this project.  I highly recommend TM 11-200 from October 1942.
I think Robert has a nice reprint.  Worth the price for all the
grief it will save you.
11-200 has clear and detailed information on the various models
of -183 and the earliest 28V -283, the -AL and -AN types.
SCR-AH-183 is the "go to" info for what you usually find.
Models earlier than -AH will have varying levels of difference,
mostly in control boxes and cabling.
The -AF is the "weird cousin" throw-back
in the mix and is a story all in itself.  If you ever find
a -AE part, Mike Hanz needs to talk with you.
If you find -AF or anything earlier, please talk to me.
