What's wrong with the IF can? open winding? Sometimes they can be be salvaged ...You would need a good magnifier, tweezers and a very steady hand!Most IF cans of various types that were open, the break was often close to the end where it could be repaired by unwinding 1 turn and CAREFULLY re-soldering it.
