Received a bunch of emails with comments. Thanks.
Didn't this conversation start out with a museum looking for some information on putting HF/aircraft radios in a Jeep? Has the photo been forwarded to the museum people?
I pulled up this photo from my personal archives, because it appears to be genuine and WWII period. (The Jeep sure looks beat up...) Perhaps there is no "official" configuration, but it certainly could have been put together by some techs. from the radio/avionics shop in relatively short order from readily available spares. (Even shows those screw together antenna sections which used to be so common...)
While it would take a few dollars to put something like this together today, it wouldn't be impossible. The toughest part would be the racks, shock mounts and remote controls.
(The Jeep's tire line-up reminds me of my '81 4WD Subaru wagon. I bought it cheap with mis-matched tires. The car didn't seem to mind! Even made it twice to Dayton...Rusted out in 1997.)
And so it goes...Bill KA3AIS
