Very early Jeeps were equipped with 6v electrical systems. Later ones were produced with 12V systems, and eventually, 24 systems.
The PE-103 dynamotor for the SCR-284 radio system in vehicular applications could be operated from either a 6V or 12V electrical system.
The DY-88 dynamotor/power unit for the AN/GRC-9 radio system that superseded the SCR-284 could be operated from either a 6V, 12V, or 24V vehicle electrical system. I’m sure there is a story on how military vehicle electrical systems evolved between the early pre-war years and throughout WW2.
