[ARC5] BC-454-B Power

Many years back, 1956-57 or so (gads that's 60+ years ago!), I was buying
"command"/ARC-5 sets for about $5.00 complete and $2.00 or so for ones
that were missing covers or mismatched colors. A sizable sum for me.  I
converted many to parallel filament (heater). and then used a small power
transformer for power supply, series connected the 5V and 6.3 winding for
my '12V' supply.  Used solid state rectifiers and a double choke
arrangement for B+.  Must not have been too complicated, I had no
knowledge of electronics as a 16 year old.  Used the mounting plate from a
dynamotor to plug onto rear mounts.  My father would make me an aluminum
door/cover to mount a jack, switch and pot on front so not to damage the
original plug in unit.  Worked great.  Still have one of those power
supplies!
