Finding suitable substitute tubes for the BC 375 has been one of my Holy Grail projects for a long time. Stumbling block is the oscillator. 811 substitute just fine for the rest. One of these days. I haven't given up on it.------ Original message------From: Roy MorganDate: Thu, Jan 14, 2021 2:23 PMTo: J Mcvey;Cc: ARC-5 List;Subject:Re: [ARC5] MW and the BC-375J,

I do want to let you know that the tubes in a BC-375 are VERY VALUABLE.

I had a chance to get one with tubes for about $200. Just ONE of the VT-4C final and modulator tubes might be worth that. I declined on grounds of my age and available space and energy for another project. The seller apparently sold it to a hamfest buyer who removed the tubes and heaved the rest into a dumpster.

I am reminded that I do have here a couple of the tuning units, not sure which ones. (I think not covering the ham bands.) VERY dusty but would wash up nicely. I can see which they are for anyone interested.
