In looking up the subject on the 'net, I see that some firms are still producing and selling throat mics for 
specialized uses - one was "race car driver". One thing I learned, which I subliminally already recognized,
is that positioning is all-important, there is no one-size-fits-all and no one positioning of the mic that works
best for all users. BTW, the "race car driver" model seems to me reminiscent of the German WWII style 
mic, which actually kind of resembles a headphone for Walkman style portable audio. I'm actually glad 
this subject comes up before I sell of my German things, so that I'm inspired to test these things out.

The German mic had a switch box the clipped to the front clothing of the user. Had a push to transmit or
transmit lock button. I bought one some time back that had been dug up near Stalingrad - in remarkably
good condition for time underground, and I don't fully understand how that could be.
