[ARC5] Cable for RU-13/GF-8

All of the cable-female connectors for the GF.RU family of aircraft radio receivers and transmitters are assigned a 2-Digit or 3-digit number, which is stamped into the outer aluminum shell. Otherwise, the connectors are all out of the same family of connectors that the Army and Navy used on most of the pre-war aircraft radio sets and on some of the ground and ship-board sets.. Except that the ones specifically used on the GF/RU have about one size smaller solder glands than those connectors used elsewhere.

Anyway, I have one of the 121's on hand. $24,00 plus postage.

As reported here by Dave S many moons ago, the phenolic inserts over the decades have absorbed moisture from the atmosphere and when pressed out of the shell cannot be reinstalled. The fix (per Dave) is to bake them in a convection oven. I usually use 190 to 200 deg. F. Be sure to loosen the retaining screw before cooking the connectors. After the timer sounds, remove the tray or cookie sheet (with hot pads) and set them on something that will stand the heat, such as your cook stove or cook top. Once cooled, finish removing the insert using something like a pencil (eraser end)

After soldering the wires to the contacts, you will need something like one of the push-button leaf springs (almost straightened out) to successfully reassemble the connector. And I hope that you remembered to slide the outer shell over the wires before you soldered them to the contacts.

While not the ARC-5 set, this cool little set needs to be put back on the air!
A gift from AB5S!
It came complete with everything except the power cable from the dyno to +12V. All I really need is the connector however I cannot for the life of me find a p/n for the connector.
The cable is listed as “cable 3154”

Can anyone shed light on the connector? It’s a two pin cable that is a “snap in” style. The connector designation on the dyno is “121”
