[ARC5] A personal first

The 458A is a natural for 40 CW. It’ll tune up high enough to go to about 7070 (at least mine does) with no tweaking. I’ve had mine for about 30 years, same plain aluminum case, and made lots of QSOs with it, chirp and all. Expect 35-40W out with recommended voltages and a matching cap on the output (no mods this way) so it loads into 50 ohms. Nice find Jim.

I know: Cheap thrills, but I got this BC-458-A as part of a package deal. All the screws and the rear connector intact. All it appears to be missing are the hold-down pins. The plate caps are stowed out of the way.
