[ARC5] A.R.C. Type 12 - Was R22 receiver BCB NAV

I'm with you Dave - I think the Type 12 gear is interesting, fun to use and
under appreciated...I have a T-13 and R-19 setup that covers 2 meters, I
have used it on 144.450 with some Usual Suspects using MAW's while
hill-topping here in the Bay Area on occasion.  They both sound great, Hi
Fi really, with the broad receiver and interesting for monitoring the local
GenAv and tower frequencies...
When I was researching their use I found that they were used in (at least
early) U-2's, presumably because they did the job and were very
lightweight.  Early Helo's and even high altitude manned balloon
experiments (Project Man High).  In gondolas they were used to transmit
telemetry... fun stuff.
