True, but the differences between the R-10 and the R-22 are very, very small. I cannot

OK. Here is the deal: first of all, the tuning capacitor in that receiver is identical with the tuning 
capacitor in the BC-453 and the R-23 and R-24 ARC-5 receivers, excepting only that it has 
no connection for a dial.

Therefore, it is a very simple matter to 1) remove the snout, 2) remove the original tuning 
capacitor, 3) install the tuning cap from any of the above receivers, 4) add a tuning dial and a 
knob.

If you look at your receiver, directly under the dial is info, J-4803, which is the nomenclature 
for that "snout".

As I said, I have a schematic, and that book that David pointed you to has the schematic for 
the R-10. In any case, that schematic would make working on your R-22 easy.
