The "today" price of a BC-348 is very interesting. 
$500 today will get you a very decent new receiver, or a very respectable
pre-owned receiver. I don't know if a absolute ratio is useful though, 
because #1 there is a lot more on offer today, with a large number of 
receivers on the market, accumulated over the years, and #2, there are
other electronic avocations now so that the 1947 demand has not continued.

When I see those ads flogging the BC-645, something which I consider only 
mildly interesting junk, even at that time, the asking price, when corrected to
today's value, really astonishes me.
