[ARC5] ARC-2 on Ebay

Folks,
If you actually calculate the real value, in constant dollars many prices
are quite reasonable. The ARC 5 receiver from your youth at 6 bucks was a
reasonable price, but, remember, gas was around 25 cents a gallon. Now,
when you find a company or person who has maintained in good condition that
same "new" ARC 5, or whatever, for some 70 years and he wants 90 bucks or
more for a pristine radio, you should not complain, but happily pay for the
pristine unit.

If it were in your facility, what would you sell it for?? The same 6 bucks
you paid, or what the obvious market will bear. That is just the American
Way. CAPITALISM.

If you don't like the seller's price, don't buy. Someone just might come
along and pay the asking price, and be quite happy.

An example of what the market will bear: Try to purchase some ammunition
from a local firearms dealer, or at a big box store. Most have nothing in
stock, and the few that do are charging a premium because there is none at
the distributor level. So, if you want something to feed your "arm" , you
must pay the price. Simple law of supply and demand.
One doesn't particularly need a vintage radio, but, one does need
ammunition, that is if one is intelligent and like a good Boy Scout, Be
prepared.

Cheers all, and if you want some nice Navy radios, I have collected a few
too many RBB and RBC, might be convinced to part with a few to make room for
other things.
Robert

Agreed. I have finally decided not to bother with this any more. They are
fools, and there is no way to correct them.

Gee...

Yes. It is called brainlessness.
