My latest Command Set project here is reviving a previously hacked
ARC Type-12 R-22 receiver (later model R-10). Thanks for the ID
Info, Gordon.
This is the .54-1.6mHz navigation receiver (similar to BC-946) that
has no dial just a tuning shaft, uses Loctal tubes, plastic wiring,
wired-in IF/RF coils, BNC connectors for ANT and LOOP, noise
limiter, no BFO, and no rear panel connector. Some industrious
person removed the front panel control connector, and installed a
tuning capacitor from a BC-453, and painted the dial black.
I cleaned it up, replaced all the capacitors using the PCB kit's
from Tom Frobose, N3LLL, straightened out the AF Gain control mod,
and did an alignment. Amazingly quiet until you put on an antenna,
where every digital device in the neighborhood is discovered, hi! A
fine BCB receiver that I want to listen to at night with a shielded
loop antenna.
