All materials expand with heating, except water between 0 and 4 degrees C;
that is why undrained water pipes burst in freezing temperature.
Unless you know the relative coefficients of expansion of brass and
Bakelite, you cannot say that baking will reduce the size of the Bakelite
insert. You can only hope that heating the connector will drive off absorbed
water that has caused the Bakelite to expand.
No kind of lubrication will free an interference fit. It is also highly
likely that Bakelite will absorb any lubricant and possibly expand.
