[ARC5] Solid State Conversion of a BC-779

I once took the 957 acorn tube out of the LO of an APR-4Y tuning unit, stuck a J310 FET in the same socket, and bypassed the resistor in the B+ line with a smaller one.  The oscillator took right off with a 9VDC power input.  Stability left a bit to be desired, but I was operating it with the cover off and that no doubt affected it.

Many things have gotten in the way of my project to convert a GRC-9 receiver to solid state but I did get the LO working well and was about to install the 2nd IF transformer to see if the first IF amp stage worked when other matters intervened.
