The thing to remember is to include the IF frequency of the receiver being used as the Q-5er, in this case 50 kHz. So, again, 915/2 = 457.500. Then subtract the IF of 50 kHz, resulting in tuning of the Q-5er receiver to +/- 407.5 kHz. I've tried this method for other receivers, such as the ARC-2 with its variable IF. No joy... nothing at the 1/2 IF frequency. I have to use the BC band ARC-5 and "track" the variable IF tuning from 1000 to 1500 kHz, a real pain. But, operating it pretty much on only 3885, it does the job of bringing a 40 kHz wide system down to something entirely manageable. Using these LF receivers on the two ARR-15 wide IF receivers in the ARC-25 setup also yields usable bandwidth radios.
