[ARC5] Revenge of the Bubbles

 Even the refurb contractors apparently had problems with cleaning chemicals.I bought a NOS SCR274 transmitter "depot fresh" wrapped in in plastic in a NOS single transmitter rack, with the tags and all.
When I unpackaged it, much to my dismay, the cleaning chemicals had eaten some of the screws and one of the knobs! ...and this was a govt contractor or the govt itself.

Careful about Simple Green. The usually formula is bad for aluminum. There is a version that does work good with aluminum.

Many years ago, this SCR-274N receiver had a dried crust of grease and dirt on the top of the receiver.  "Scrubbing Bubbles," followed by thorough rinsing, removed the crud.
 Now, years later, the "Green Meanies" have erupted from screws and top fasteners.
 
 Choose your cleaners carefully.
