We have what, when I was tech testing core memories, used to call 'high
Yes. Mine is missing that/those page(s). Could you send me either your PDF of the entire
manual, or a PDF of those mssing pages, please?

Thanks for the heads-up. I had not yet read that far into the manual.

Also, the half-tones in this manual are almost unreadable, but I have yet to get into the
receiver, so maybe it won't matter..

I must admit to being somewhat surprised at how good the condition is of this receiver,
though.
You're fortunate to find a nice one. Usually when an eBay purchase arrives
inspection causes our hearts to sink, not rise.

We've seen at least 7 of these receivers pass through our California Radio
Museum as donations and only one was unmolested. We kept that one for our
display on WW2 comm.
Hi, Dennis. Thanks for writing

> You're fortunate to find a nice one.

Well, first of all, I've been haunting eBay for some years, watching for what looks like a
decent one. Although I have not yet opened this one, from all appearances, it appears to be
unusually nice. I'll report more info as soon as I can.

As I mentioned, the cost for the receiver was $82.00, which I considered to be "reasonable".
Shipping was also a little over $82.00 which I thought was outrageous, but given today's
climate, I expected it.

>? Usually when an eBay purchase arrives inspection causes our
> hearts to sink, not rise.

Yes. So far, I have been unusually lucky in that regard. About 10 years ago, I bought an
HRO-50-R1 off ebay, with a big bunch of coils, and a speaker/coil cabinet for what I thought
at the time was a very reasonable price. It arrived very poorly packed, but without any
damage. It was an ex-FAA receiver and I was very glad to get it.

> We've seen at least 7 of these receivers pass through our California Radio Museum as donations
> and only one was unmolested.? We kept that one for our display on WW2 comm.?

I understand.

Well, at this point, I consider myself lucky, so far.

Later,
