[ARC5] RAT/RAV radios question

There are several RAT receivers around, but one does not count
scarcity with such wide definitions. T-20/ARC-5 transmitters are
common as the sands of the sea; T-17/ARC-5 transmitters are
quite scarce (though not "rare"). By the same logic:
There are four different models
of RAT/RAT-1 receiver. Only 50 complete sets of RAT
and 50 of RAT-1 were made and less than ten of each model are known
to have survived. They are, therefore, authentically "rare."
RAV receivers are "gold standard rare." It is reported that 48
sets of eight receiver models were built. Only a handful of
them are known to have survived, including two untagged prototypes.
There is a Navy veteran story that the sets had been deployed
to the Med, then tossed overboard
when RAX was installed (it's a vet story. Who knows?).
In 50 years, I have owned one RAV piece- a dynamotor.
Several receiver models, including the almost mythic
9-13 MC, are, AFAIK, extinct. Only Gordon White
has ever seen a 9-13 MC RAV, and it was heavily "hammered,"
its fate unknown.
Any RAV or RAT sets are authentically
"rare" and should be preserved. Only the "Circle-M" A.R.C
sets are more "rare," being unique, one-of-a-kind items.

P.S. There is also a 12-volt version of the ARA receivers.
I know of only one, owned by Gordon. I sent him the
matching dynamotor some years ago. Never seen any
information on this set, so don't know if it was a "one off,"
or actually went into production. Does anyone other
than Gordon have an example?
