Tim, that's pretty funny! 
I know it's been a great long time, but can you recall, did the dial numbering on the receiver look 'professionally done' and not more HB ?
I had a 10-meter converted receiver some years back - wish I had kept it now, because I think a 10/11 meter setup like you described, 
would be great fun. But you could look at the dial and see not factory. 
I have a stack of CB mags and newspapers I need to gather together. I hope there's some kind of market for that category. Remember
the CB "field days", Jamborees, Miss CB USA, and such ?
Well, I have a couple Japanese military radios that cover 11 meters, for the 'Net Control', so I'm ready for the next Jamboree.
