[ARC5] RAT/RAV radios question

In the early 1960's I was somewhat aware of Command sets as a kid. (I had a
BC-458)... I was at a local park on Long Island next to Mitchel Air Force
Base and there happened to be a Citizens Band "Coffee Break" going on
there. (gathering of CB'ers). The "net control station" was a shock
mounted Command set TX & RX on a picnic table operating on 27 mc AM talking
with all the Good Buddies in the area. Almost certainly a complete RAT/RAV
set with modulator, (altho it could have been a CB Hammering of something
more mundane..It was all Black as I recall if that helps).. I don't recall
the power source or antenna but I was very impressed at the time. I needed
to get one of those!
