I just had a nice 45 min chat with W0CCA Cap on 40M, using my WW2 GO-9 and a 1938 HRO. No chirp just good CW……soon heading back to my pillow.

My wife and I take a hike every day. I sometimes take a radio along to operate portable. Years ago I could always bag CW QSO,s but these days the CW and SSB segments are dead. It is not propagation since the FT8 frequencies are always busy. The issues is hams are busy gossiping on these groups and Facebook instead of operating.

Ham radio, for the most part, provides mental stimulus but is a sedentary hobby so most hams are overweight which leads to health issues.

For your well being I would recommend stop watching television, heed the advice of the CDC, WHO and peer reviewed scientific journals. Take a walk and get some exercise and fresh air. Diet and exercise.

People on this list brag about their radios, why don't you get put them on the air. I wanna hear those chirpy command sets on 40 meters.
