Thanks all for the info.

Mike and Mike: I've got both the AVT-112 system manual and the antenna 
reel book, and it sorta answered part of the questions, but not 
completely. David has completed the info on the contact method, so that 
is a huge help.

Robert: I knew that Copperweld #18 was close, but I'm unclear whether 
the 106 is a braided/woven wire or is a solid single wire. Any idea?

David: Much thanks for the photos,. The one with the fairlead answers a 
lot of questions. I'd be much appreciative, if you have some time, to 
sketch out a quick set of dimensions on it.  I've got a reproduction 
reel here on the desk that I borrowed from a friend and am making a full 
set of drawings off of it. It was copied off of an original a number of 
years ago, but the drawings that were made at the time, have since 
vanished. The repo doesn't have the data plate and some of the parts are 
a little off as well as the hardware. I'm working to back into the 
correct hardware, or at least correct appearance, and the other stuff is 
all easy corrections.


I've got at least one 112 and a 126 over in the warehouse that I think 
has good paint. I'll run over this morning and see.  If they are good, I 
can run them by one of the better paint places and see if we can run 
them under the photospectrometer and get some color data.
