The Navy helicopters I flew (SH-3D) almost never got to high altitudes but one winter morning at Brunswick Maine the airfield temperature was something like minus 30C (minus 22F).
We had no ARC-5 type radios but rather the ARN-6 for beacon navigation. It was in the nose compartment and I think got no benefit from the aircraft heater.
Is anyone running an ARN-6? I have had one and a control box but no mount, tuning cable or control unit connector.
