[ARC5] ARC5 Digest, Vol 193, Issue 48

Hi Dave

I think I'll just put the oscillator circuit back as designed, and use a
good power connector that I have that will mate
with the FT-226A rack. The female connector for the MX-1 from a scrapped
receiver is ideal... it has the
center pin, and one extra female socket position that is not needed. I'll
modify the wiring accordingly.

Unfortunately, that means the transmitter will be an odd duck in that it
will be a wanna be... but in the
rack the modifications and extra holes will not be seen. I may skip wiring
the xtal socket, and just
wire the filament pins for the eye tube.

I want to find the correct 24 DC relays for the antenna and under chassis,
since they will be used in
the other transmitters. The correct antenna jack and ceramic parts would be
nice as well. I'm
happy to having them look correct when in use. And being close to factory
wiring.

I'll keep looking for the parts. Any advice on suitable black wrinkle
paint that will match the crinkle
finishes used on these sets? I have several plain Al covers that are mixed
and matched by previous owners.

Pete
