[ARC5] R-17 14 volt ARC rack query

I found one of these and intended to modify it for use with my ARC-5
receivers.

I am wondering if any knows its origin? My understanding it was VHF gear--
it has the standard ARC-5 receiver fitting on the left back apron, and
an receiver fits perfectly in that slot... the right slot has two ARC -5
7-pin
connectors side by side. What radios and equipment was this made for?

Before I hack it up to make it usable for two receivers, I'd like to know
if it has any value to collectors? It doesn't have any useful purpose
otherwise--I would swap for a FT-227 rack if someone needs the
R-17 in a trade.
