Thanks for your reply. I have the Airadio and the Sams schematic for it. Very interesting radio with a Twin-T, RC audio rejection filter for 1020 kHz when VOICE is selected, but no bandpass filter for 1020 when RANGE is selected. All the RANGE position does is ground the AGC while all audio comes through, same as when TOWER is selected.

Since the Airadio's chassis layout and coil construction are different from the AR-3A, I just thought there might be some difference in the circuitry.
