Is no sweat David. With the screw holes going all the way thru, that
means that they were used to secure the fitting to the tube as well as
providing a connection point.?? I'd be willing to bet that if you run
that screw in, until it's flush with the bore, that there will be a gap
between the shaft and the screw head that is close to the guide tube
wall thickness, plus the thickness of a washer.
I'll hopefully start on the drawings this next week. It depends on how
much down time I end up with at work. Things have been slow over the
last few weeks and not much maintenance work needed on our aircraft.
As to my L-5 project....It's been in storage for a lot of years. I've
spent the last 2 1/2 years or so chasing radio stuff and electrical
stuff for it and the Fairchild AT-21 project. After the first of the
year, I've got to get with the feds at Oklahoma City and sort out the
paperwork on it. The ownership paperwork is really honked up and I need
to get that all fixed before I get going heavily on the restoration.
