Thanks to all who took a shot at this. I'll relay your suggestions to the
team. I think the tripod leg notion might be right.

One of the problems with WWII crash sites in remote locations is they often
have been salvaged by locals for 75 years and there may not much left to
identify what type of aircraft it is, let alone a specific plane. Plus
other items can show up in the area that have nothing to do with the crash.
Perhaps that's the case here.
