[ARC5] Need Help Identifying Item Found at Possible WWII Crash Site on Luzon

    I don't suppose a better photo exists, would probably help. 
Since this is a recovered crash site is there any clue as to the 
type of aircraft? A P-38 and a P-51 are quite different, do they 
have no further information? Knowing the type of aircraft would 
help identify the part or even if its an aircraft part but  maybe 
they are trying to identify the type of aircraft from bits and 
pieces. How did they decide it was one of the types listed above? 
Did they find an engine? The two used different engines although 
both were V type not radials. How much other stuff have they 
found?  I am curious as to how they are going about this 
investigation.
