Hi, Cliff. Yes; directly to the crystal socket (one side is grounded).
Before doing this, it is important to check the socket for DC voltage.
Not a problem on this rig, but the SCR-274 receiver crystal socket
has about 45V sitting on it. Used a .02 coupling cap in that case.
